RCG has reinvigorated this long-time vacant structure along Lafayette Street that once was a French-Canadian social club. Its upper floors had been vacant for decades until RCG managed the renovation of the space into the striking headquarters of the North Shore Community Development Coalition, Inc. The North Shore CDC views the new, open plan space as key to their business mission. The building’s retail tenant was Smokin’ Betty’s BBQ. RCG first obtained approval to convert the upper floor space to residential use from the Planning Board before switching course to build out the space as commercial. RCG worked closely with both commercial tenants to oversee the construction and fit out of their spaces. The building’s exterior has been restored along Lafayette Street to highlight the buildings ornate wood cornice and accent trim work.
